This is a school project where "The Sea in Front of Our Door" is compared in locations where the Kiel SFBs or their scientific partners are stationed. Already the first two places, Kiel Fjord in the Baltic Sea in Germany and Mindelo Harbour in the Atlantic in Cape Verde, offer a wealth of contrasts for these studies.

At both places, pupils from local schools investigate the ocean with respect to geographical, physical, chemical and biological properties and report their findings in the web. Support is given by local research institutions (IFM-GEOMAR in Kiel and INDP in Mindelo).
